Throwing a Political Monkey Wrench
December 30, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Although not a Democratic Strategist I do believe with gas prices breaking $3.00 a gallon over the holidays that the Republicans Agenda could be set back by simply demanding that Congress holds hearings on why the rising cost of oil threatens the economic recovery and what can be done in order to resolve the problem. For I wonder how many children did not receive a gift this Christmas because Mom and Dad had to spend so much extra to get to work and heat their homes. And why it is not a knockout blow, I do believe more Americans are interested in the idea of gasoline returning to $4.00 a gallon by year’s end than the Republicans wasting time over trying to convince President Obama he should repeal health care reform and replace it with nothing. So can Americas’ Democratic Machine throw a political monkey wrench into the Republicans first days in office?
Now given the track record of the Republicans unwillingness to allow a Cap and Trade (Energy Policy) Bill to be passed in the last Congress and their unwillingness to regulate the oil companies even after the BP Spill of 2010 I do believe they will be even more reluctant to begin the first week in office discussing what Americans need to do in order to grow the economy, increase jobs, and provide a new source of revenue for the government. Yet, considering all Americans are directly affected by the price of oil and only some have to worry about health care insurance I do believe the case can be made and sustained that Americas’ Energy Policies are more important than the Republicans showboating for the cameras.
Thus, why the words “Political Monkey Wrench” may not be the proper words to use in order to derail the Republicans Agenda, I do believe given the Political Opportunity to bring attention to the rising gas prices effects on our economy and citizens should not be overlooked by the Democratic Leadership. Especially since one can tie the debate of Energy Policies with the Debate over decreasing the debt. And why I realize the reluctance of some in Congress to take on the Conservative Movement, I would say that with the right political wrench the Democrats can put the Speaker of the House on notice that Americans are not going to stand for another two years of Congress doing nothing to address the issues of debt and energy.

Merry Christmas 2010
December 24, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Having grown up enjoying the song “A Little Drummer Boy” I hope this Christmas finds my fellow Americans in this season of family and friends in good spirits. For why history will forever show the 111th Congress worked hard to fight the impossible over the year, I do believe the ignorance of the Media Pundits has caused us all not to enjoy the holidays as good as we could. For why the Mighty Duck Session of Congress has proven Americans can work together to solve the problems facing our great land and society. As President Obama and the Members of Congress rush home to celebrate with their families and friends, I wish the Media would spend the next few days showing how Americans are coming together to ensure We the People have a better Christmas.
So enjoy the next week as the world once again marvels at the Love and Understanding of the Human Race given what will be reported on the eleven o’clock news on Christmas Eve. Because why the Media will still continue to report on all the murders, fires, and devastation happening, tonight let us reflect on the fact that Mankind has learned MAD is not the answer. For though we still have homelessness, hunger, and cruelty. If one takes the time to look around and think that Status Quo is dying a slow death.
Now how it came about that Americans are no longer tolerating bullies and those who believe they should be allowed to run rough shot over the masses is a question of enlightenment that I do not believe even history is ready to answer. Nevertheless, the mere fact that people from both sides of the political spectrum can set down and talk about the issues of the 20th Century is a gift which should not be overlooked since the Elders will tell you that has not always been the case.
Thus, why I may not be able to bring you silver and gold or the innovations that will allow the Youth of the 21st Century to build the Better World only dreamed about by past generations, willing to play with My Brothers and Sisters of the 70’s about Mans’ Ability to make every Human on Earth economically viable and financially independent. May I play for Americas’ Democratic and Republican Civil, Political, and Religious Leaders and Citizens in hope that 2011 will see the 112th Congress can once again get back to the work of Labor and Management. For in this season of miracles, I do not see the Corporation of My Elders and Peers who does not want to build a better world for the Human Race.
Merry Christmas America and here is to the World having a better year.

March 4th 2011: A Day of Reckoning
December 22, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Why the Right might think they won the battle by defeating the passage of the Budget Bill during this Lame Duck Session, I do believe they will find that March 4, 2011 will get here faster than what they think. For now the 212th Congress faces the problem of keeping their promises and meeting the needs of society from Jump Street. And why the Republicans and Tea Party can say today they will cut the budget and entitlement programs back to 2008 levels, they fail to realize the one who holds the power is President Obama. For why the Democratic Senate can blame the Minority Republican Leader for not getting anything passed by the Republican House, the fact President Bush can reject any bill which might get through both houses still may see the government shutting down.
Yes, it will be fun to watch as the Republicans and Tea Party struggle to come to terms with the fact their members and supporters do not want to give up their entitlements. For why extending the age of retirement will upset the Youth Vote and limiting Medicare payments to the states will only succeed in pissing off the elderly I can only imagine what their friends on Wall Street will do when they try to reduce corporations welfare. And why all this has to be done in less than 90 days the Democrats would do themselves a favor by forcing the Republican Leadership to find a way to keep their election day promises and still deal with the fact that most Americas will have less money to spend as the cost of oil increases.
So why I am glad to see the Democrats have kept the government running by passing the extension after they attempted to pass the spending bill I do believe a day of reckoning is coming on March 4, 2011 when the Republicans have to decide if they want to break their election day promises or risk shutting down the government once again. For why personally I would like to see Congress pass a balanced budget. Knowing Republicans would have to begin to fund two wars and their health care plan I won’t hold my breath in anticipation.

Should First Responders Respond?
December 21, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
On the eve of Christmas I am surprised that a few Republicans want to deny the 9/11 First Responders Bill come up for a vote in the Senate. And why I am sure that in their minds there are just reasons; however, I wonder if their inaction will lead to Americas’ First Responders not showing up the next time the call comes in. For though in the days after 9/11 you could not find a single Republican or Democrat who opposed helping the fire fighters, police, and the families, today it seems like some in Congress and the Media have forgotten. Thus, I have to ask should Americas’ First Responders answer a call which will lead to their death.
Yes, preserving and protecting the health of the ones who rush in when everyone is running away should be of top priority; nevertheless, by not wanting to even allow the Senate to vote on the bill sends a message that does not look good for the next time a major crisis occurs. So I ask those who oppose the 9/11 First Responders Bill if they do it out of the Ignorance of Politics or the idea that fire fighters and police should not put themselves in harm’s way. In fact, I wonder what the Senators would do if their local first responders said they would not save their home and property because there was a possibility of harmful gases and material leading to medical problems for Americas’ First Responders.
So why I realize it makes political headlines to oppose any of President Obamas’ Agenda, are you really sure that you want to send this type of message to future fire fighters and police. For why I know anyone can come up with any reason to not fund the healthcare of those who served the country in its time of need. I wonder if the bill fails if the next time such an event happens that Americas’ First Responders will rush in. Because though it is not a question of courage or conviction that I would blame them for not responding, I wonder if the next time Congress will not to have to write the check before any action is taken. For again, should Americas’ First Responders answer the call when they know it will cause them harm?

Budget Fails to Pass
December 17, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Hearing that support for passing the budget bill died late Thursday night should come as no surprise to anyone; however, I do find it somewhat strange that the number one thing that killed the bill was the number of earmarks added to the main bill by the Senators. How convenient for those who would rather not fund our troops or see that the government has the funds they need to operate. In fact, I wonder if the bill was amended to include a 50% cut across the board except for the funds needed by our troops and eliminate all earmarks if the same result would have not happened. Thus as the Senate once again fails to do its job I have to ask if the government should not be shut down because the budget fails to get passed.
Now, I realize Senator Reid says he will work with others to pass a bill to keep the government operating for a short term. And why I am sure his staff is glad to hear the news, I wonder how many Republicans will again fail to support the bill unless they receive all the earmarks they want. So why I am sure the departments need money to operate for the next few months, I do hope the Democrats will limit the spending by making the departments operate on the minimum.
Yes, February 28th does seem long enough for Congress to work out their differences, but something tells me they will elect to extend the time until the next budget is due. So why not go ahead and draw an extension which will keep the departments operating on the same budget they had in 2009 for the next year. And to add a little bit of incentive to pass a budget in the next 60 days I wonder if Senator Reid and Senator McConnell cares to add to the bill an amendment which would not allow another extension.
For why failure should never be rewarded and the idea of Congress spending another trillion dollars should make it a hard pill to swallow, I do believe that if we gave them another 365 days the same problems would cause the members to fail to do their job. So as we go into the new Congress with a government actually running on life support I can only hope that the new budget will be free of Republican Earmarks and reduce the funds directly related for the entitlement programs meant to help states balance their budgets. In this manner

Merry Christmas Congress
December 16, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
After hearing the Republicans crying about wanting to go home for Christmas I have to wonder if they realize how many Americans are not going to be able to celebrate the holiday. For why it must be nice to have the money to afford to take off a few weeks and let your work gather, the rest of America must work twice as hard just to ensure they can make their bills at the end of the month. And though all the blame does not rest on the Republicans shoulders, I find it hard to blame the Democrats for willfully delaying the Business of the People. So what can we do to ensure Congress has a Merry Christmas?
Shut down the government by not passing a budget extension? Yes, stopping the paychecks of all federal workers until after the new Congress take office may save a few million; however, who would be around to swear them in? And more importantly how would our troops get paid? Thus, why passing the current budget bill in its current form may prove some Republicans don’t want to walk the walk they talk. Nevertheless, one amendment could wipe out every earmark made by Republicans and save the country a few million dollars.
Than we have the Start Treaty which by every measure needs to be passed in order to protect National Security. And why I still cannot figure out why the Republicans won’t even allow the matter to come to a vote, I have to wonder if they would rather see Al Qaeda get a nuke or just piss off Russia by saying that the agreement doesn’t matter.
And thus let us not forget Don’t Ask Don’t Tell which has already been found to be unconstitutional. For why I realize some may have reservations about the problem, I really don’t believe Congress would rather give up their right to pass a Proper Law and force the Obama Administration to take matters in their own hands. So are the Republicans afraid to have the vote today because they know it would pass or is it due to their willfully unwillingness to do their sworn duty?
Yes, a lot of this could have been avoided if the Republican Leadership was not so insistent on being the Party of No; nonetheless, they have and will go down in history as being both the Party of Do-Nothing and No-Nothing if they walk away now. And who is to say that the next two years will not be more of the same. So please go home for Christmas knowing that Americas’ problems could be solved with just a vote on a Bill that would insure President Obama gets reelected in 2012. For why Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Man may be an Old Saying, I do believe passing a Bill that states America is entering the Race to the Top in building a Green Sustainable Government and Society would go a long way in winning the War of Ideology and Terror started by the Republicans in 2001.

Caving In or Hanging the Republicans the Rope that will Hang them?
December 7, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Say what you want about President Obama stance on extending the Bush Tax Cuts; however, knowing that if the Republicans want to win in 2012 than their claim that tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs better see the unemployment in America drop at least to 6-7%. So much for opposing the President and Democrats, now it seems the future of the Rich well being depends on if such a stimulus can keep the economy moving in the right direction while Congress works out how to get the National Debt in order.
And why that don’t mean the Democrats are off the hook, I do believe over the next two years will provide an excellent source of data on how America should move forward. For why the Republicans hate the Ideology of Societal Structure unless it is their own. Will random investment in the Market provide the necessary Equality Funds require. Because why not all jobs created are equal, I hope Americas’ Workforce will force the Corporation and Establishment to provide Livable Wages to the Standard of Living better than the 20th Century.
For again, I see this is another problem the Republicans face in 13 months as they work to deny extending unemployment. Given the fact that a job which does not pay the bills is really called a hobby. And why the Silver Spoons of the World may enjoy such creature comforts, want to see who is to blame if the Middle Class is still losing economic ground in 2012?
Thus, why I personally think Congress should allow the Bush Tax Cuts to expire and feel the reason they don’t is because they are just to lazy to introduce a better bill. Given the amount of work being piled om the table of the 112th Congress, I don’t think the Republican Leadership in Washington can cry the Democrats caved in without hanging themselves with the same rope. So, President Obama may be taking a difference stance than the Far Left and some Moderates of his political party; nevertheless, I have to smile knowing that if President Obama is going to be a One Timer than many in the Senate and House of Representatives shouldn’t even unpack.
Cause what will be your vote in 2012 if nothing changes in Washington and on Wall Street?

A Privilege to Fly
November 25, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
For those who want to complain about the new TSA measures to provide safe air flight they might want to realize that flying is a privilege and not a right. And that is not meant to say TSA should or would be successful in stopping a terrorist from getting on a plane, but it will make it harder for those who believe they can change the Mindset of Authority simply by blowing up a plane. No, why the new screening machines was thought up under the Bush Administration and does not completely eliminate the threat, I do believe the claims and fears by a few has more to do with political games than the idea the TSA Workers want to put their hands even close to a person’s privates.
No, Rush and Company can cry all they want about the overreach of the government on this matter; however, unlike real privacy issues such as unwarranted phone taps they do have alternatives to travel. In fact, I almost have to smile to think that a single Flyer would rather miss their flight than submit to a pat down; however, I can think of why some Flyers would not want to have the advance screening or rigorous pat down. For what if they were hiding drugs or other items forbidden on the airplanes, could this be the reason about 15% of the flying public are crying about the fact the Obama Administration has put in place advance screening when it was only a year ago that the same group (Rush and Company) was yelling for the protection. Sort of puts them at a disadvantage in the public debate do it not?
Now I understand that finding a subject to scream about other than the fact the Republicans in Washington hasn’t a clue how to put 2 million Americans back to work before Dec. 31st so they don’t have to allow unemployment to be extended. And why I can only guess at the next subject Rush and Company will come up with to avoid talking about how Wall Street is making record profits thanks to the actions of President Obama and the Democratic Leadership. Nevertheless, I know that starting Monday after the shameless showing of the boycott call these same pundits will attempt to find another subject which they can try to bash President Obama and the Democratic Leadership.
However, it is too bad since the bigger picture allows Americans to discuss the Right to Travel freely in America and what can be done by the Conservatives in Congress to end Americas’ dependency on foreign oil and supplying our enemy with money from the profits of sales. Nonetheless, that would lead to Rush and Company having to defend the Republicans stance against Cap and Trade. Because why I do not believe Americas’ Oil Companies will end up going broke as long as the airlines fly, I do believe that Main Street Media might want to cover the ‘Real News ‘ being made instead of the “Make Believe News” of some pundits.

Should Palin Leave the Cookies Alone?
November 11, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
With most Americans realizing it is a good idea to promote healthy living amongst our children one would think those who want to be a social leader would have no problem with our schools cooking better meals; however, it seems that Sara Palin would rather believe she knows better what is good for your children than the Doctors and leading Health Experts. Yet, I wonder if anyone told her that some cookies can actually kill them. So should she leave the cookies alone?
Yes, it seems that in her zealous to down talk the government she forgot that handing out sweets to a bunch of children without their parents consent is not the same thing as the schools offering cookies during lunch. So what about the children who cannot eat nuts or eggs or any of the number of ingredients that are in those cookies, did she know which children not to give the cookies to or even offer them an alternative?
No, the problem with the idea of telling children they should not allow their local school boards offer them a healthy meal might make a good 30 second sound bit for Radio and TV against the Establishment; however, I wonder what the Mother Grizzly is going to do when her own children start eating nothing but junk food for their school lunch. Because if they don’t want the local school board to offer healthy meals, I guess she is telling her own children that it is ok to get the school to offer unhealthy meals. So what would her idea of a school lunch be?
A bag of cookies, a soda, and some French fries along with a greasy cheese hamburger might be a Childs’ idea of a good lunch, but I doubt if a parent concerned about their children health would want them to have a steady diet of these food items. No, it seems to me that Sara Palin was thinking more about her childhood and how the schools offered lunches that only meet he calorie count and nutrient values which have lead to America having an obesity problem.
Thus, maybe before she should offer the children dozens of cookies in order to make a political statement she should first talk about how being overweight and not eating your fruits and vegetables can lead to major health problems your government and parents have not told you about.

Changing Washington Today
November 8, 2010 by ItheConsumer.
Does anybody really think the Pundits and Reporters of Cable TV learned a thing from the 2010 Elections? Because why they already have Representatives Boehner and Pelosi changing Seats of Power without being sworn in or elected, it seems they also believe they can get the American Voters to agree that the Seats of Powers in the new Senate don’t need to be voted upon either. Yes, IMHO it seems the Status Quo would rather see Washington gridlocked than accept the fact that with 60 plus new seats in the House of Representatives the Tea Party could demand their candidate be considered for either the Speaker of the House or the Minority Speaker of the House since without the support of the 60 neither the Democratic or Republican Party holds majority. So let us talk about changing Washington Today.
Now, I am only entitled to My Opinion; nevertheless, I could easily make the argument that Representatives Boehner and Pelosi are both part of the Establishment which has failed Americans. And why they both hold the ability and skills to do the job, they are both short of the experience in today’s technology to successfully move America into the 21st Century. Depending on how the new 60 plus Representatives would caucus when seated at the beginning of the new Congress I am almost certain they could produce a set of candidates for the Speaker of the House and Minority Speaker of the House which would not only be qualified for the job, but have the confidence of Business and the Public. For why I’m not sure what would happen if neither the Democratic or Republican Party would hold the majority, I have to ask the question. What would happen if the Tea Party Representatives would join the ranks of the Independents in Washington?
Could that suddenly mean the Democratic Party was still in charge of the House of Representatives? Would it possible mean the Republicans would have to cater to the Tea Party Members in order to gain the majority? Yet, should the moderates of both political parties decide to join the 60 plus newly elected representatives as Independents is it possible Americans could see the making of a new national party who has the leadership and vision to move America forward. And why it might be a hard thing for the Cable Pundits and Reporters to grasp, the American Voter can demonstrate through history that it would lead to the Peaceful Exchange of Power in the country.
So before you go listening to your favorite cable pundit or reporter tell you that the writing is already on the wall and nothing can be done. Call up your newly elected Representative and Senators so they may know how you feel about Wall Street and Washington wanting to play musical chairs in Congress before Americas’ Elected Officials is sworn in and seated. Because why I personally have nothing against Representatives Boehner or Pelosi, given their track record over the last few years are they being sworn in as Speaker of the House and Minority Speaker of the House of “We the People” going to change Washington Today?
