Responding to Senator Shelby
February 4, 2009 by ItheConsumer.
Hearing that Senator Shelby of Alabama called for a filibuster in the Senate as a way to derail H.R. 1, I looked up his political stance on the issue. So why I can share his position that he is concerned about what it will take to turn the American Economy around. I am even more worried what is going to happen to America if “We the People” do not invest in building a Sustainable Green Civilized Society that can compete in a Global Economy. And why I know that means different things to different people, I do believe that the Senator from Alabama and me can agree that certain developments, programs and tax cuts will help encourage the Citizens in the State of Alabama to rebuild the coast to hurricane standards and prevent what happen during Katrina.
Yes, I agree that most of the Social Programs and Tax Cuts in the current bill should be based on Real Savings instead of the Good Old Boy System. In this manner I do believe that the American Citizen would be rewarded for helping their Democratic and Republican Elected Officials do what is necessary to make America Energy Independent. However, knowing that I am only one voice in millions I still would support a Bill coming out of Congress that forwarded the Debate of how does America Recover and Reinvest as a Nation and a Society that will solve the Issues of Stupidity held by the Youth of the 60’s and Silver Spoons of the 70’s.
So why I will respect Senator Shelby calls for a filibuster in the Senate over H.R. 1 while offering no viable political solution. I do hope that Senator Burr and Senator Hagen of North Carolina will consider H. R. 1 the beginning of the debate on how the Members of the House of Representatives and Members of the Senate coming up with an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan worthy of the American Spirit.
